At Ecomantra, we actively pursue the philosophy of nature conservation. In fact, our core interest involves helping the cause of conservation.

Members and camp participants contribute to the cause of environment protection by participating and promoting events and campaigns that aim at spreading the message of protection and preservation of our natural environment and the biological diversity.

Our team members have worked as volunteers for prestigious institutes like Bombay Natural History Society, Conservation Education Centre (Goregoan), World Wildlife Fund for Nature, Maharashtra Nature Park and Maharashtra Nature Conservation Society.

	Organizing and participating in tree plantation programs, lake clean up drives, de-weeding exercises, conducting nature based slideshows and photo exhibitions

	Campaigning for protection of wildlife and its habitat. We have been part of a core group of conservationists who had initiated the campaign for legally protecting the Forests of Bhimgad in the state of Karnataka.

	We are proud of being associated with the same core group of conservationists led by Durgesh Kasbekar who along with other dedicated individuals and local groups, had impressed upon the state government of Goa to declare two wildlife sanctuaries (Netravali & Mahadayi) - in the process, Goa became the only state in India to have brought the entire Western Ghats hill range and its forests that falls within its political boundaries, under a legally protected network. Thus nearly 25 percent of the geographically area of Goa is now protected.

	Our members have also been vigilant against any activities inside Protected Areas that can be construed as non-forest activities. In the case of a proposal to start Nisarg Vihar, a so called nature park - promoted by a private body- within the boundaries of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, our members took up the matter with the higher ups to highlight the various discrepancy in the Park's strategic plan which was later found to be in violation to the letter and spirit of Wildlife Protection Act. A High Court ruling has stayed the project.

	Ecomantra team has also played a major role in imparting environmental education and nature awareness programs for different sections of society but principally focusing on school and college students. A program was also conducted to teach disadvantaged children like those in orphanages, street urchins and pavement dwellers.

	We use creative techniques and specially designed educational tools in our nature based workshop programs and that helps the audience understand Nature and its related topics in a better manner.
